Abstract

The Basis of interpretation in Tadabbur e Qur'an constructed by Maulana Ameen Ahman Islahi (An academic review)" Taddabur e Quran is one of the most significant Quran exegeses expounded in the twentieth century sub-continent by Maulana Ameen Ahsan Islahi. Being a student of Arabic I have always being interested in Understanding the word of God my own and in this discourse of interpretation the Quran exegeses are to play a key role. In this regard, the exegeses written by Muslims scholars of the subcontinent are of immense importance particularly those written in Urdu. From amongst such great Urdu Quran exegeses Tadabbur is found highly influential and commendable in terms of its vast readership and linguisted significance. Maulana Islahi belongs to a different school of thought of the Muslim sub-continent namely the Farahian school of the Quranic Hermeneutics. As we know the Farahian school having no juristic brand, is rather purely a school of thought of Quranic Hermineutics which is well known for its notion of Nazm al Quran the view that the Quran is a thermatic whole in which all of the surahs are interlinked with each other in term of their themes to make it a unit in terms of meanings.
