Abstract

Islam is a Religion of Nature and all its commandments are based on its very cardinal rules as spelled out in Quran saying "Never Allah implicates a man with a (duty) heavier than his forbearance" The timings of "Ibada`at", "Eids" and "Fastings" etc are determined by means of natural phenomenon and not through manmade equipment’s. However, the Islamic Shari’s strongly recommends the usage of these observatory as supporting material regarding the moon sighting keeping in view its libations. The paper beforehand argues this issue very wisely. This article strongly supports the proposition with the help of numerous religious proofs. The main stress has been made on the structure of Islam being a "religion of nature" and the issues related to Ibada`at. As such we must follow the natural measures whether to determine the timings of Fastings or that of Eids. The basic law used in the Islamic teachings is that of "easiness" which is found in following Moon variations instead of depending on solar calendar. The lunar measurement is easier and reliable as very oftenly we find some findings of observatory misleading. Also it is the instructions of "The Holy Quran" to decide the commencement of Eid before the Judiciary by the Government: based on the evidence of pious witnesses on seeing the crescent.
