The words and meanings of it have been revealed by Allah (SWT) and will remain unchanged for ever. First exegesis of the Qur’an was provided by the Prophet himself and then by his companions. Later on scholars of Islam also made notable contributions in this regards. Imam Fakhruddin Razi is one of those celebrated scholars who produced an excellent Arabic commentary of the Qur’an coveringalmost all aspects of tafsir. The present article focuses on a small portion of Tafsir-e- Kabir, i.e. the portion in which different names of the Qur’an have been discussed. These names alongwith notes of al-Razi have been translated into Urdu followed by a discussion.
