Abstract
Imȃm Sharȃni (898AH/1493AD-973AH/1565AD) was one of the greatest Islamic Scholars of Egypt. He joined many study centers of different Islamic thoughts and got his education from various teachers. He became expert in the fields of Hadith and Fiqh at a young age. He wrote more than 300 books. The most valuable of them is “Al-Mizȃn alKubra” (The supreme scale). It is his seminal work, which comprises and compares the rulings of all Sunni schools of Fiqh as if they were a single school. His concept of mizȃn is the most valuable concept among his views. He considered the differences, according to their difficulty, as either strictness (azimah) or dispensation (rukhsah). According to the mizȃn, view differences in Islamic Fiqh are not controversial but all viewpoints are followable in different circumstances. The opinions-differ in Fiqh brings out many ways of act upon Islamic commands.
