Abstract

It is quite clear that Islam has given the fetus the status of a person and given it rights just like the born child, as the right to life and has financial rights like the right of property from its inherited. In this article there has been described the meaning of fetus and then its rights. Fetus has right to life. Islam protects its life as it protects the life of a born child. Islam has therefor forbidden the abortion and imposed the punishment for the person who commits offense on pregnant women that causes death of this fetus, and the punishment will be delayed for the pregnant woman till its delivery for the sake of its fetus. There are some privileges for pregnant woman in some obligations as in Saum, to protect the life of fetus. The other important right of fetus is the right of lineage. The lineage of any person is very important, so Islam cares about it.
