گولڈ زیہر کا رجال الحدیث پر نقد۔ ایک تحقیقی مطالعہ

Abstract

Goldziher is prominent Orientalist in Uloom-ul-Hadith. His book ''Muslim Studies'' is considered as Bible in the literature of Hadith. Later Orientalists criticism mostly based on the research studies of Goldziher. During the criticism of Rijal-ul-Hadith, he specially targeted those transmitters who have transmitted a lot number of Ahadith. Hazrat Abu Huraira and famous traditionist Muhammad bin Shahaab Al Zuhri are on his hit list. Hazrat Abu Huraira is being blamed by Goldziher for fabricating Ahadith for his personal interest. According to him, companions of Prophet S.A.W (Sahaaba) also had not considered Hazrat Abu Huraira as trustworthy. Muhammad bin Shahaab Al Zuhri is the major target of Goldziher’s criticism who is not only an authentic transmitter but also is included in prestigious scholars of Hadith. Goldziher has allegedly included Imam Zuhri in the fabrication of Hadith for Umayyad. From the one statement of Imam Zuhri Goldziher has wrongly perceived that Hadith scholars were compelled to fabricate Ahadith for rulers of the time. This article highlights the justice and integrity of Rijal-ul-Hadith, especially Abu Huraira (R.A) and Muhammad bin Shahaab Al Zuhri.
