Abstract

Isra'iliyyat is the body of narratives originating from the Jewish and Christian's traditions through Bible, Taurah and Talmud. These narrations are found mainly in the works of Qur'anic commentaries, Hadith explanations, History compilations and Seerah descriptions. These consist of information about earlier Prophets with Prophet (SAW) mentioned in the Bible and the stories about the ancient Israelites with fable allegedly taken from Jewish sources. In Seerah Books, these Isra'iliyyat narrations are also quoted but nobody made his research about the true, authentic and original nature of these. These traditions of Israelites were communicated in society from generation to generation through unreliable sources. In this modern age when the trend of writing the Seerah books is increasing day to day including these traditions of Isra'iliyyat but nobody felt that nature, existence and truth of the narrator with the content of his tradition should be checked that if any insulting and ridiculous view or thinking against Prophet (?) with His family is not coming out. So, it is the stern need of society and responsibility of Seerah writers that the strict rules and regulations may be made for knowing the undoubted and unambiguous nature and body of these narrations
