Abstract
The Scholars of Sub –continent learnt Arabic for religious propensity, after the advent of Islam (in this area). But the rich Arabic literature attracted their attentions afterwards. They shared in it by writing prose and poetry. After the division of sub –continent, in 1947, the promising poets from Pakistan excelled in writing Arabic poetry that even the Arabs appreciated their writings. The trend in composing Arabic poetry in Pakistan and the contribution of Arabic poets from Lāhore in the progress and development of Arabic language and literature are the major focuses of this article. The great scholars composed poetry on various subjects in dynamic and unique style. Their poetry encompasses religious hymns, praise songs, celebration poems, Ballads, Odes, Encomium, Epics, Satire, Irony, Farce, Allegories, Elegies and Lyrics.
