Abstract
Before the last messenger Muhammad (SAW) all the other Prophets (A.S) were sent for a limited period, specific race and area. Some of them preached only the previous Shariah, while some others came with the partial or fully change in the previous Shariah. On the other hand the last prophet Muhammad (SAW) was sent as Universal Prophet, whose Prophet hood is meant for all the people, the whole world and for all the times till the day of judgment. Consequent upon the completion of religion on prophet Muhammad (SAW), all the previous Shariahs were abrogated. However, the last Sharia reached its completion / perfection through an evolutionary process, covering a span of 23 years. During this (evolutionary) process some partial or complete modification took place through recited and non-recited revelation, as was advisable according to the knowledge and will of Allah Almighty. This change / modification is conventionally called Nasakh. The non-Muslims and orientalists objected the Nasakh and took it for that type of modification which takes place with the passage of time or after review on some work. They thought (misunderstood) it as change of opinion and termed it as the reason of imperfection of the knowledge of Allah, while in reality Nasakh is totally different from that. Nasakh actually discovers the predetermined time period of an abrogated command as suits to the wise principles and planning of Allah Almighty. . As per its conventional meaning and terms and conditions, Nasakh is totally according to the wisdom of Allah Almighty, which denotes the perfection of His knowledge, not the limitation. Its refusal is equal to the refusal of the wisdom of Shariah. The given article discusses and critically analyzes the reality of Nasakh and the objections of orientalists on it, which brings the misunderstanding of orientalists to true light.
