Abstract

There is no doubt that the history of Islam is rich in prominent religious scholars, who spent their lives in serving the Islam. One of these great scholars is Abu Amr Uthman Ibn Salah alDin (died 577 AH), who is commonly known as Ibn Salah. According to Ibn-Khallakan, Ibn-Salah is one of the exemplary scholars of Quranic exegesis (explainations) and Hadith. He was specialist and the author of the seminal introduction to the science of Hadith. He worked on Prophet Hadith and wrote many books and epistles (few papers work in a special field) in this field. One of these epistles is “Al-Resala fii wasli al-ballaghat al-arbia fi Muwatta’s Maliks” in which he provided complete chains for the four hadiths which Allama Ibn Abdul Bar doesn’t prove as Muttasil. Why does Ibn Salah do such work? Because he wanted to prove that Muwatta is equal to sahi Al-Bukhari in authenticity. In this paper we present investigatory and critical study of this work in light of competent scholars’ opinions to prove that whether Ibn Salah is true in lawsuit or not?
