Abstract

In this article the author has identified the various degrees of unsoundness in Islamic law. These diseases obliterate perceptual or volitional capacity and the cognitive phase of mental life. In case, any crime is committed or omitted, the accused is not held responsible and convicted due to the absence of mentioned mental faculties. The state of unsoundness covers broader area of mental diseases that eliminates criminal responsibility. This research aims to study the Islamic perspective regarding the inquiry undertaken.
