Abstract
The purpose of the study was to explore educators’ teaching practices in China. The study explored possible gender-wise differences among participants’ perceptions. Chickering and Gamson’s (1987) seven principles of good practice for education provided as a framework of the study. To administer the questionnaire, 177 respondents were sampled from postgraduate (44) and undergraduate (133) classes. Purposive sampling technique was used to conduct focused groups interviews. The research revealed that educators ignored some principles which were student-teacher contact, cooperative teaching techniques, prompt feedback, and encouraging different views and ideas in the class. The perceptions of female participants were better than males about educators’ practices.
