Abstract
This study examined the mediation effects of social trust, self-esteem, and resilience in the relationship between optimism and job satisfaction. Data of appropriate items from the European Social Survey (Round 6) were picked that measured optimism, job satisfaction, self-esteem, resilience, and social trust that were the relevant constructs to this research. The sample for this study comprised of 26716 respondents. Results indicated that optimism, social trust, self-esteem, resilience, and job satisfaction were significantly and positively associated with each other. Results further showed that social trust, self-esteem, and resilience significantly mediated the relationship between optimism and job satisfaction. Implications of research and limitations of the current study were also discussed.
