Abstract
Globalization introduced new trends in international arena. This paradigm shift has been compelling various countries towards regional integration. South Asia is confronting with very complex and complicated situation, on one hand regional politico, economic and social relation are pre-requisite to alleviate poverty to ensure prosperity of people and to augment economic development of the region, while on other the two major countries of the region are strangulated by the mistrust and failed to accelerate trade between two nations. This situation is hindering the trade relations of whole region. Policy makers of Pakistan and Nepal are struggling to enhance trade and economic relations through bilateral interaction, negotiation, cooperation and by using SAARC platform. But these efforts could not be fruitful due to technical, political and psychological barriers. The difficulties of Nepal are added by its land locked position and its traditional dependence on India. This paper is an attempt to evaluate existing economic relations, impediments and to explore possibilities to enhance these relations in the benefit of people of Pakistan and Nepal.
