Abstract

Terrorism is a deliberate, unjustifiable and random use of violence like suicide attacks for political and sometime religious ends against protected and oppressive individuals and governments. Obviously there is no inextricable connection between Islam and terrorism. In point of fact the Shariah doesn’t condone the use of violence except to combat injustice, and noncombatant immunity is a prominent feature of Islamic literature on jihad. The phrases such as “Islamic terrorism” significantly misrepresent the religious roots of violence committed by Muslims. The case of Shaykh Yusuf al-Qaradhawi is an exception.
