Abstract
Al kinayah (metonymy) is a rhetoric terminology which is developed in traditional Arabic linguistics. Linguistically kinaayah is derived from the root "Kenna" which means to refer indirectly and/or euphemistically to something in terms of something else. There are a lot of examples of metonymy in Quran which has been pointed out in many tafaseer such as “Bedawi” and “Kashaaf”. So in this regard I selected only one Surah from the Holy Quranthat is Surah Nisa, which is the most wonderful Surah of the Quran. This article will explains literal, verbal meaning and proofs of kina ayah as well as myths of every metonymy.
