Abstract

This research was conducted to unveil the ambiguous connections between Trimurti in Hinduism and Trinity. This study found that both of the concepts are in either way influenced by Egyptian and Greek civilizations. Being “three” the Trimurti attributed in incarnated form to the cosmic essence which explains the abstract nature of God in Triple principle, creation, Sustaining, and termination to perform various functions. Unlike the “Trinity” in Christianity where God is presented as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Both of these concepts descend the concept of God rather than Transcendence. The aforesaid “Trimurti” is polytheistic in its nature which emanates Pantheism “the whole Universe is Brahman and Vice versa” while the latter one “Trinity” is Monotheistic.
