Abstract

Sir Sayed Ahmad Khan (1817-1898) was an Indian Muslim pragmatist, reformist and philosopher of nineteennth century British India. Sir Sayed Ahmad Khan says that in the histroy of the Prophets in the incidents which were regarded as miracles were not miracles but happening which took place according to the natural laws. According to him nothing happens which is against the law of nature.He rejects miracles not because they are contrary to reason but because Holy Quran does not lend to support to miracles. This paper attempts to enlighten Sir Syed, concept of miracles and explores the criticism of Moulana Sana Ullah Amratsari (1868-1948) on his concept of miracles.
